Hi guys, in the continuity of my previous article where we have discussed that bosses are not creatures that came from another planet, they are people like us and most of the time we have made them to behave the way they are behaving with us.
Whenever I look back on my 27 years of journey in the oil and gas sector, I am able to perceive that whatever good or bad I am today is due to the guidance and mentorship of bosses I work with. I never say I did not have a difference of opinion with them or arguments with them. But now I see reflections of each one in my behavior in one way or another way. Whatever I am today may be good or bad is due to them.
Whenever I look back and ponder one of the scenarios in one of my previous organizations where one of our boss is having bitter relations with almost all of their subordinates and people keep on having swords open with him on very small things.
It also happens to be in that section. Almost after one year, people often ask me Kirar Sahib, how your managing with such a boss who is almost difficult and impossible to work with, how you are managing with your favorite boss.. ( a Sarcastic statement )
I could not reply to them at that time and just offer a smile in response but today I have understood the fact and am able to analyse that scenario and offer my comments as below and may be helpful for the industry for resolving many controversies if we are able to follow some basic behaviour trait.
Bosses are also human being and not perfect like us and accepts him first as you accept any other family member in your house or vicinity. He is having his own behaviour traits like all of us having. We need to very clearly accept that he is more responsible than you for your results. it is also a very clear and universal fact that nobody can take the credit of anyone as there is a very big boss and above all a super boss is there who is looking after everyone in the organization or existence.
Your boss may be a fool but his boss is certainly not who has to deliver results to his boss.
In India, we have not been taught in schools or colleges the behaviour competencies required to maintain a balance with our fellow creatures..
How many people in India and abroad have a better adjustment with his father than his boss. we need to ponder on this with a very open mind otherwise we will not able to understand the concept and keep on blaming one person after another from one organization to another organization.
It is very often said that people don’t change organizations they change bosses that this topic is very important and relevant to all of us. Exceptions are always there but the world moved around with average scenarios spread across industry/country.
Boss is not a demon. Everyone working and discussing here must be boss of sufficient numbers of people. If I have a right to blame one person above me then more than ten direct reports also have the right to describe you. .
Boss is also not perfect like all of us and accepts him first as you accept any other family member in your houses or vicinity.
He is having his own behaviour traits like all of us and can have a different temperament like you.

This is my personal view may not be acceptable to so many and there no need to agree with each opinion but at least we should be agreed to disagree. At last, I wind up the talk by citing a very common example that how many people in India and abroad having a better adjustment with their father than his boss. Your agreement and disagreements are most welcome.
